Special Thanks to Stephen Dazey

The Southern Humboldt Community Park Board of Directors extends their deepest gratitude to Stephen Dazey for his generous contributions to the Community Park. Within the last two years alone, Dazey’s Inc. and Stephen Dazey have made cash contributions totaling over $40,000!

In addition, Stephen has donated more than 7,000 volunteer hours to the Park. Stephen’s enthusiasm and vision as the Park’s Founder boosted the community into action to purchase the 430-acre property that created the Community Park in the year 2000. Stephen led many projects that are now admired and enjoyed by those who visit the Park. He single-handedly gathered and milled redwood stumps to create the fencing around the children’s play area at Tooby Park, collected raw materials which were then repurposed as the pathway bridges around the park trail system, and created fencing around the small trees in the meadows to protect them from damage by deer. He oversaw the installation of the agricultural water mains and infiltration gallery, and served as a volunteer Operation Manager at the Park for seven years, to name just a few his contributions.

Dazey’s continued support and energy over the past 15 years has ensured the viability and self-sustainability of this Southern Humboldt jewel.

With the help of Stephen Dazey, along with hundreds of other dedicated individuals and businesses who have stepped forward, the Park has become a community asset that will be enjoyed for generations to come.
